The Omambala Fishing Women’s Processing Project is located at Aguerri, Anambra State in the Eastern Region of Nigeria by the Omambala River linking the River Niger. The objective of the Project is for the fish market women to achieve economic and social development through environmentally sustainable fish processing and marketing. Such will support an adequate means of livelihood and better living standards for them, their community, as well as the environment. The Project will overcome the shortcomings associated with the traditional methods of drying and smoking fish, by applying interventions to upgrade the traditional techniques.
